What if I am not sure what type of business entity I need?

When you join the Business’ Owner’s Toolkit, we can discuss what type of business entity would be right for your business. We will discuss the nature of your business and where you plan to take your business. Based on that conversation, we can advise you on the advantages of each type of entity, whether that is an LLC, corporation, or something else.

The Business Owner’s Toolkit includes formation and maintenance of one California LLC. Formation of California S- or C-corporations is available for an additional, competitively-priced add-on fee.

Will you take care of all of my business’ setup and maintenance?

Absolutely. Our goal with this program is to give business owners’ the chance to completely delegate the legal parts of forming and running a business to actual business lawyers who have done this type of thing hundreds of times. That way you can have peace of mind and focus on growth.

That means that we will not only form your business, but we will also get your Employer Identification Number (EIN), do all maintenance filings with the Secretary of State, draft and modify your operating agreement, act as your agent for service of process and generally be available to answer any legal questions that you may have.

What if I already have a business entity?

If you already have a business entity established, the Business Owner’s Toolkit is for you. When you become a member, we will do basic things like become your agent for service of process and and do all maintenance filings with the Secretary of State. This helps to ensure that your business entity stays in good standing and that you can keep the benefits.

And members get access to preferential flat rates on key business contracts such as services agreements, subcontractor agreements, non-disclosures, collaboration agreements and licensing. These agreements include free updates for as long as you are a member.

Finally, you get unlimited attorney access. So if you have a question, you can get an answer from an attorney right away.

How do the contracts work?

In our work with creative businesses, we have noticed that there are certain types of contracts that every growing business needs.
