The annual American Bar Association Techshow has been the leading conference for lawyers interested in how to use technology to better practice law. This year’s conference is being held in March in Chicago and Counsel for Creators attorney Jon Tobin will be giving two presentations at the event.

Counsel for Creators at ABA Techshow 2016

Counsel for Creators attorney Jon Tobin – whose practice is focused on legal issues involving technology and intellectual property- will be presenting on two panels at this year’s conference.

The first panel is on realtime collaboration tools for lawyers and is being presented with Adam Nguyen of eBrevia; how lawyers can use contemporary software tools to make the process of editing documents easier and more accurate. Drawing upon his own techniques for working collaboratively with other attorneys, Mr. Tobin will show how tools like Google Docs, Dropbox and Slack can make team communication better.

The second panel is being presented with technology attorney Whitney Merrill and is called “I Found It On The Internet: May I Use It?” As you might imagine, it discusses the legalities of using materials that you find on the Internet, covering issues ranging from copyright to defamation to trademarks.
